Hello muffins! I have recently been updating my bedroom and redecorating with some new items from my favourite home store: Ikea! Their new collection, Ikea PS 2014 has been a hit with me and I have just fallen in love with some of the new designs! Since I live in a basement that has black wood panelling and a fake brick wall, it can be quite dark and dreary. So I decided to add some colour to the room, primarily yellow as I have discovered a new love for the colour! Here is what I "hauled" from Ikea :)
Malin Trad: Lamp shade ($9.00)
I put this on a dinosaur shaped lamp I got from a Goodwill store.
I love the different colours which add some spice to the dark room!
Harte: LED light in pink ($14.99)
It is super bendy and can twist in different directions!
Ikea PS 2014: Fabric ($6.99/meter)
I made the fabric into a simple curtain for my one window.
And, to repeat the PS 2014 theme, I stapled the same fabric over a white door that leads to the furnace room. Just to add some more vibrance to the black walls.
Tjena: small paper storage boxes (only $1.99 each!)
These are great little boxes for storing junk and stuff, and even come with little label tags!
Byholma: Storage baskets in dark and light brown ($5.99 each)
I love the look of these baskets, and are great for storing anything from socks to belts! Just a really pretty solution for storing stuff!
Ikea PS 2014: Area rug ($129.99)
This was the most expensive purchase but I just had to grit my teeth and bare it because it matched too perfectly with the other PS 2014 things and breaks up my all grey carpet.
Lillaryd: Photo frame ($5.99)
This yellow picture frame is so neat! The below photo may not show how the white border actually slants inward toward the picture, but it does! It creates a cool inset, focused feeling.
Beloved Homes Book: Decoration and styling book (only $4.99!)
I love looking at blogs and websites about how to style a room or house, and this book is just so perfect! I am obsessed with getting new ideas and seeing how other people live and decorate! For only $5, I couldn't resist this great coffee table book.
(some pictures inside the book below...)
My room is slowly coming together to become how I envision it!
Hope you enjoyed this Ikea haul!
Have any suggestions, or decorating tips!?
Thanks for hanging out!

DeleteCould you share more pics of the rug in the living area. I love it and I am considering buying it.
ReplyDeleteThere are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment?s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.
