February Favourites

Here is what I have been loving in February!

Elephant iPhone 5 case
Moroccanoil "The Original" hair oil
Carmex lip ointment
Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hour Full Coverage Foundation
Korres Wild Rose 24hour Moisturizing and Brightening Cream
Diorshow Brow Styler
Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara

Shoppers Drug Mart, approx. $31
Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara

The Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara is a classic in my books. I have the shade "Excessive Black", which is super black and stunning. I usually curl my eyelashes, use an old mascara wand to separate my lashes and then apply a coat of this mascara. One coat is really all you need! The formulation is thick and smooth so it coats the lashes really well. If I want more drama or fullness I will apply another layer once the first has dried.

Dior Diorshow Brow Styler Ultra-Fine Precision Brow Pencil

I was so excited for the Diorshow Brow Styler because to me it just screamed "convenience"! I have the shade "Universal Brown", which as the name suggests is universal. I was wary at first about it matching but it is actually perfect. The pencil formula is smooth and accurate which makes eyebrows so easy to fill in, and the added spooley is just the best tool for shaping or fixing your brows.

Moroccanoil "The Original"

I consider this Moroccanoil hair oil a holy grail product! This is just a small sample bottle that I need to replace before I run out! I have very damaged, dry hair from years of dying, highlighting, heat styling - pretty much anything you do to your hair, I've done it. So, it is fair to say I have tried a lot of hair products and oils, but this one is by far the best! It is not overly heavy or greasy when applied, but gets absorbed into the hair quickly and leaves it feeling soft and moisturized.

Korres: Sephora.com, $44 / Carmex: Shoppers Drug Mart, approx. $3

Continuing on the topic of moisture, these two products have been so great for winter skin and lips. Living in Canada means dealing with harsh winter winds and dry, chapped skin. The Korres Wild Rose 24hour moisturizing & brightening cream is nice and light but really packs a punch in the moisture department. I use it in the morning and even at night because I love it so much. It smells nice and really hydrates my dry skin.
And with winter comes the inevitable chapped lip. Carmex lip ointment has really been a miracle for keeping my lips hydrated and soft. I use it before applying any lip products just to make sure my lips stay moisturized underneath. And for only a couple of bucks, it is an affordable miracle!

This silly little Elephant iPhone 5 case was an impulse buy from my University Bookstore and it was on SALE for $7 or so, and I just couldn't resist! It just adds a little joy to my day because it is kind of outrageous in the cutest way

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hour Full Coverage Foundation

I have combination skin and was looking for a new foundation that wouldn't highlight my dry spots but at the same time hide my oily T-Zone. This is, as it claims, a full coverage, long-lasting foundation that really does stay put. I believe I have the shade "Fair Sand" which has yellow undertones. I try to avoid foundations with red/pink undertones because it causes "mask-face" on me. But, I really can't recommend this product enough for a full coverage foundation that is buildable and matte.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation (shade: fair-light neutral)

Another Tarte product made its way into my favourites this month, and for good reason! This. is. the. best. mineral. powder. EVER. I actually never used to like mineral powders because I always got too much product on the brush, and it was messy and sort of inconvenient to carry around. A compact, pressed powder was always easier to use, but Tarte's ingenious "net" in the middle keeps the powder from falling out and doesn't let too much get onto the brush! Just wonderful design and packaging, and the powder itself is a star! It is light, but buildable, and I often just wear this with no base if I am in a rush or don't feel like wearing a full face. By far, my absolute favourite, favourite of the past month!

Thanks for hanging out!
